California Landscapes

From the beaches of Southern California to the peaks of the High Sierra, my life and my art are centered around the California landscape. Although my family home was in Los Angeles, I spent my early summers on Southern California beaches and in the rugged Sierra Nevada mountains.

When I moved to Northern California, I started exploring the beautiful landscape: the coast of Big Sur, the Sonoma vineyards and countryside, the foothills of the gold country, the above timberline grandeur of the Sierra. This year I have put together a series of oil pastel sketches of some of my favorite places in California. Here are a few of over 40 sketches I have done.
